That Stranger

When paths crossed
That Stranger
Who Made me smile
Swift  he came
May I say for life?

From early mornings
And long subway rides
With coffee and laughter
We made good friends
Alright!

It is unclear what happened next
From an honest exchange
To a passive hush.
Things are never what we expect.

If paths cross again
It is painful to say
Happiness who once brought
Is now a stranger far away!

I like your style, reminds me of some Ruskin Bond poems I absolutely love. The best part, the shortness of the poem depicts the incompleteness of the story.
